[Want to chat with Jamie privately? Here is where you do it! . Jamie's office hours will be held in the art room for approximately four hours after lunch time several days a week. During that time, the room will be off-limits unless you're there to talk to Jamie.

[Something seems...off about Margulis today, and he's carrying...is that a large pot full of ashes? when he enters the art room.]

Fell, I would ask a favor on behalf if all of us who must continue to live here.

[theoverseers]

[Jamie is hunched forward in his chair when Margulis walks in, face resting in his hands. There's a canvas and easel set-up, with paint and a metal palette on another chair beside him. None look like they've been touched that day.

He lifts his head when Margulis speaks.]

Hm?

[misplacedxsheath]

[He takes note of that. It's pretty clear something isn't quite right, but...priorities.]

These are the remnants of that beast's belongings and creations. We'd like them removed from the station, to rid this place of the last of his presence.

[theoverseers]

You guys...burned Seth's stuff? [He blinks once, like he's trying to fully comprehend what's being said to him. Then he shakes his head and sighs.] Yeah no, that makes perfect sense. I don't blame you guys in the slightest.

[misplacedxsheath]

Someone as vile as that deserves to make no mark on this place. And the more religious among us worry of the spiritual taint he might have left behind.

[He puts the pot down on a table, then leans against the edge. Apparently he's too good for chairs.]

But I can see we aren't the only ones troubled by this last trial.

[theoverseers]

He was kind of the worst. I'll make sure it get jettisoned into a black hole or something. [Said with a completely straight face. Seriously, fuck that guy in particular.

Jamie's mostly exhausted expression flickers with something more lively for a moment before he brings a hand up to his forehead and just goes back to looking tired.] It wasn't so much the case as Seth's, you know, everything.

I can sympathize. He always reminded me of some of the worst individuals I know, yet even extended experience doesn't make that sort any more palatable. I'm not particularly fond of the idea of casting aside the lives of those who were chosen for displaying remarkable characteristics, but Ainsworth's death may have been worth it to remove that devil from our midst.

[theoverseers]

[Jamie purses his lips, casting a glance at his unfinished painting.]

His particular brand of crazy would have come out sooner or later. I'm just sorry Angelica had to die to bring it out.

[misplacedxsheath]

With his sort...death may be inevitable. After all, even if we had discovered it before he could act, ridding ourselves of him would have required a sacrifice under your own rules. He seemed too intelligent to manipulate into giving you an excuse to remove him for violations of other rules.

[theoverseers]

I'm just...I'm just glad he's gone and done with. [A glance toward the pot of ashes.] When you said you burned his belongings, that includes the portraits, right?

[misplacedxsheath]

Most of them, at any rate. There's a few people who, for some unknown reason, felt the desire to keep theirs, but the majority were eager to see their mocking likenesses destroyed.

[theoverseers]

Good. [There it is, that same venom that was in his tone at the trial right before the mask was blown up.]

I take it you find personal offense in painting skills being used as such a clear and twisted insult.

[theoverseers]

Something like that. [Bitterly.] Art can be used to express a lot of things. Feelings, people, places, to remember, to parody, pretty much anything.

But when people like him use like he did it just...it really pisses me off, you know?

[misplacedxsheath]

I can understand, yes. In a way, it's not so different from swordsmanship...the way one uses their blade, it acts as an expression of their innermost self. My master...used to say that it was a tool for carving one's heart.

To see something of such personal importance used as a tool of senseless destruction would anger anyone who carries to right to call themselves a master of the relevant craft.
