[There's a polite knock on the art room door during Jamie's office hours, and a voice pipes up.]

Excuse me? Mister Jamie, you are in now, aren't you?

[After their meeting is the perfect time to talk to one of their captors- and considering it's Jamie that has the office hours that fit perfectly with it, he's the one Xander comes to]

Ah, so you DO actually have meeting hours.

[He kinda expected that to be a load of bs]

Hello? We had some questions, so I wanted to bring a few things up with you!

Tuesday

[Like hell if she's bringing this up to Bolton, that guy seems crazy. Jamie is probably no better but at least he's not going to tell the other champions. Probably.

This isn't a conversation she wants to have but she waited a couple days before bringing it up. Making sure that no one else is in the art room she asks flatly,]

Do you two have any of that vaccine on board? There's not any medical supplies here.

[She knows you know what she means, considering her champion title.]

[theoverseers]

Okay, okay, I'm coming! [It takes a moment but Jamie is quick to open the door for him.] Sorry, I keep forgetting not all of you have thumbs. [He's dressed down from his introduction the other day, going from a suit to jeans and a plain grey t-shirt smeared with fresh red-brown stains.]

What can I do for you, Griffin?

[theoverseers]

Just a second! [There's some scuffling noises from inside the art room, possibly a chair being pushed back, before the door opens. He's changed his clothes since the motive, shedding his cardigan to reveal a paint-stained t-shirt and swapping his slacks for faded jeans. His hair is still down and loose around his face.] Oh, Miss Crocker. Or should I just call you Jane? Which is better?

Tuesday

[After the motive announcement, Margulis is pretty sure he needs to talk to the Overseer who wasn't gleefully handing out bribes for murder. Compared to his hostility toward Bolton, his knocking on the door an hour after lunch sounds downright polite.]

[theoverseers]

[Xander gets to find Jamie dragging a large paintbrush across one of the canvases set-up in the art room. He leans back in his chair, flashing a smile that looks almost apologetic. There's a steaming mug of coffee set up on a stool next to him alongside a second mug full of water.]

Yup! Just like college.

[theoverseers]

Come on in, Captain Misumaru! It's unlocked. [He still has no idea what she prefers to be called so hey, why not her actual official title?]

[kingshaming]

[... he's even more surprised by the mundane-ness of the scene, and makes his way over, curious to see what is being painted]

I can't say I know the term, but I suppose it doesn't matter. Are you open for a few questions?

[You get more flies with honey, and unless Jamie antagonizes him he intends to play this diplomatically]

[He stares at the stains for a while, but decides not to ask about them.] Have our memories have been erased?

[theoverseers]

[She catches him sitting in front of a canvas, right in the middle of taking a sip of some very hot coffee. He chokes on it a little in surprise.] Uh, [He clears his throat.] Yes, we do. And if you need it to keep your...condition? Condition under control we can give it to you.

[She definitely didn't mean for that to happen but he probably deserved that.] ...Alright. I just wanted to make sure. [Because a zombie in a middle of a space station is a bad thing.] I don't need any at the moment but at least it's there.

[Wow. This is awkward.] Thanks, I guess.

[She's doing her best to look...kind but stern, which is an odd expression for a teenage girl to have - then again, Jane is an odd girl, and she has no qualms about it.] Miss Crocker is just fine, thank you. Do you mind if I ask you a thing or two?

[She takes a deep breath, swings the door open, and gives a V-sign. Shutting it behind her, she goes to sit down in one of the chairs.]

Don't worry, this probably won't take long at all! I just had some questions. Well, actually, we all had some questions! Oh, first of all, where did our Champion titles come from?

[theoverseers]

[He clears his throat again and sets down his coffee cup, wiping his mouth with the back of a paint-stained hand.] Just let me or Bolton know when you do. The last thing any of us want is to accidentally recreate The Walking Dead in space.

[He is definitely feeling the awkward vibes too, Kurumi.]

[theoverseers]

[The canvas is blank but there's a definite sheen of fresh white paint on it and a large, very pale grey oval in the center. Jamie himself has a metal paint palette balanced on his arm with globs of various paint colors covering the tarnished surface. Another chair with some paint brushes is on the opposite side of the mug stool.]

University might make more sense to you I guess? Maybe. [Jamie, stop. Shut up.] Uh, sure. Ask away.

[theoverseers]

That's what the office hours are for. [He steps back from the doorway.] Did you want to come inside?

Yes, please. [And she will step in, taking a cursory look around the art room. Might she notice what Jamie might've been doing in here?]

[theoverseers]

[Careful, Yurika, one of those chairs has a whole bunch of wet paintbrushes on it.

Jamie is sitting in front of a canvas, his hands and clothes (a t-shirt and jeans, a far cry from the business casual suit from the introduction) covered in dried paint and his wild hair pulled back into a tight bun at the base of his neck. He's not painting at the moment though, instead he's just chilling in the chair with a steaming mug in one hand and a thick paperback novel in the other.]

How do you mean?

[kingshaming]

Ah, yes I know that term.

[which makes all the talk of experiments all the more unpleasant. But anyways-]

It came up in conversation that there are... discrepancies in our profiles. And based on that some are concerned that our memories might be suspect.

I wish to confirm or deny their suspicions.

[theoverseers]

[There's a canvas and easel set-up away from the other canvas and easel sets with three chairs around it. The one directly in front of the easel is empty while the one on the left has two mugs sitting on the seat and the other has a metal paint palette on top of a small pile of brushes.]

[theoverseers]

Erased, no. None of your memories are completely erased.

[theoverseers]

[Jamie is quiet for a moment, rolling the heavy paintbrush between his fingers before tapping it against the yellow paint on the palette and starts tapping it against the canvas.]

Yeah, your memories were messed with for the experiment.
