Bolton's Office Hours

[Want to chat with Bolton privately? Here is where you do it! Bolton's office hours will be held in conference room B in the library for approximately four hours in the morning several days a week. During that time the blinds will be drawn and that room will be off-limits unless you're there to talk to Bolton, though the other three study rooms will still be available for use.

[Bolton stops with the press in his hands, and then stays silent while he pours Xander a cup of coffee.]

We had our roles explained to us, our gear installed, and were given the task of reading up on all of your files.

[Sense Motive check: He definitely believes what he's saying]

That's not what I asked.

[And THIS time he's not going to let it lie]

That's how you were set up to do so. What about before.

I wanted adventure; I'd dreamed of becoming an astronaut. The Benefactors promised me the chance to leave my boring life and travel the stars.

Just so happens they left out the "Murder Space Station" part until they had me out here with no way to get home by myself.

[kingshaming]

[Not as bad as he feared, but still very very bad]

Was Jamie with you at that point, or did you meet here?

[It could all be a lie. He liked to think he had a good read on people, but this place threw everything he thought he could trust about himself, let alone what was possible, into question]

I met him here.

[kingshaming]

[He nods, thinking]

You mentioned before that this was your first experiment. But on Tuesday you mentioned the threat against our worlds being 'classic'. Have you been shown or told about other experiments then?

[theoverseers]

I can think of one of your fellow Champions who can give you the answer to that.

[kingshaming]

Oh really?

[Considering titles he has an idea who to ask. Then, softly-]

... know I do not consider you or Jamie to be our enemies, Bolton.

[They were pawns in this game too.]

[theoverseers]

[Bolton pauses with his hands around the coffee cup.]

That's.

I appreciate it. Jamie doesn't deserve enemies.

[kingshaming]

He doesn't.

[he can say that for sure.]

I wish I could suggest we could work together and escape this. But I doubt it is so simple- we are at odds, and I have sworn to both my country and the people here to get them free. But... if it's possible, I hope you don't die.

[theoverseers]

[Bolton forces a grin.]

Well, it's the thought that counts. For what it's worth, I don't see you as our enemies, either.

And, if it's possible... I just want Jamie to be safe.
