Bolton's Office Hours

[Want to chat with Bolton privately? Here is where you do it! Bolton's office hours will be held in conference room B in the library for approximately four hours in the morning several days a week. During that time the blinds will be drawn and that room will be off-limits unless you're there to talk to Bolton, though the other three study rooms will still be available for use.

Is it too much to ask for a new album or a movie every now and again?

[Bolton narrows his eyes a little, then gestures at the electric kettle and small metal tin of tea on the tray.]

You sound like you've got something to say. Want to have a seat?

Bit of something, yeah.

[He'll take a seat, sure. Fun as it might be, he's not here to antagonize Bolton. Not completely.]

So, just hypothetically speaking. Say you had some kinda growth on your arm or something.

[It's a risk speaking even this plainly, but what are they gonna do. Kill him?]

Seems like something you should get looked at. Might be fatal, leaving it.

[Bolton's eyes dart to his right arm, and the sleek tablet that peeks out from the specially-tailored sleeve of his royal blue shirt. Then he folds his arms on the table and leans forward.]

Mm, I know the UK's had single-payer for a long-ass time, but don't forget some of us face pretty steep premiums if we want to go to the doctor.

[Okay, so they're either communicating well or managing to have two completely separate conversations from each other. Fantastic!]

Oh, well, that just depends on where you look. Some places'll do some pro-bono work if something's serious. Mind, you still have to a be sort of careful about the kind of place you're walking into-

{Not breaking verbal stride, he tugs his screwdriver out of the sleeve he's been keeping it in and taps it in his palm, an apparently idle tic.]

-make sure they've got clean instruments, that kind of thing. A medical diploma that's not from Coney Island's a plus too, but you know what they say about beggars and choosers.

[Bolton breaks eye contact to glance at the screwdriver, then back up at the Doctor's face.]

Sometimes if you jump straight into surgery, you just cause more problems for yourself. There's always some kind of underlying cause. Diagnose that, and maybe surgery won't even be necessary. It all depends on what the bigger picture is.

[His stare is pointed, whatever you're talking about Doctor he's definitely not talking about medicine.]
